TakeRoot Justice seeks a law student extern to work on a new project focused on for-profit immigration bond companies. The extern will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with TakeRoot’s Immigrants’ Rights and Consumer Justice teams to document the experiences of New York community members who have used bond company services and to explore advocacy opportunities to address misleading or abusive practices.
- Current law students with a demonstrated commitment to immigrants’ rights advocacy and/or familiarity with the immigration detention and bond process are especially encouraged to apply.
This position is unpaid.

Preference given to applicants able to dedicate a minimum of 5-7 hours per week for the duration of the semester, and work can be completed remotely or at our office in Manhattan.
