Who’s Who at Unite, Fight Back
|
We’re thrilled to introduce you to the first two fantastic people gracing our stage at Unite, Fight Back: our emcee for the evening, Sam Kebede, and our first honoree, Michèle Burger. Read on to read more about these two.

Sam Kebede is a first-generation Ethiopian/Eritrean-American writer and performer whose work has been presented at The Public, Ars Nova, New Victory Theater, and Victory Gardens Theater, among others. He is a 2023-2025 Jerome Hill Artist Fellow, a 2023-2024 New Victory LabWorks Artist, and a former CAMP resident at Ars Nova.
Sam is the creator and lead artist behind Lack History, a comedy variety game show about BIPOC history where all the proceeds are donated to grassroots social justice causes (including TakeRoot!). He is a commissioned playwright for B Street Theater on a three-year deal and excited for his upcoming works this winter.

Michèle Burger is an ordained Kohenet (Jewish Priestess), community organizer, and philanthropist. As a social worker versed in clinical and community organizing methodologies, she employs a holistic and team-centered approach to community organizing. Her experience includes managing campaigns and programs, grants administration, directing constituent services, conducting operational research, and advocacy.
Michele is a visionary who believes in teamwork, collaboration, and accountability. Her career spans domestic and international experience with government and non-governmental organizations. She believes in a free Palestine and practices a spiritual Judaism grounded in love, peace, and justice.
