Farrell A. Brody is a Senior Staff Attorney on the Workers’ Rights Team at TakeRoot Justice. He grew up in Coney Island, New York and still lives in Brooklyn. Prior to law school, Farrell worked as a political organizer, paralegal, and actor. While attending New York University School of Law, much of his time was spent dedicated to human rights research and advocacy in Haiti. He worked for over six years as an associate at Kelley Drye & Warren LLP and Chaffetz Lindsey LLP, representing clients located in Latin America, Europe, Asia, and Africa involved in complex federal litigation and international arbitration matters. While working at law firms, his pro bono experience includes assisting a client in obtaining asylum, representing several criminal defendants in proceedings in the S.D.N.Y., representing a sovereign banking entity in the Second Circuit, obtaining a preliminary injunction to maintain full-time nursing services for a senior citizen, filing an amicus brief in the Fourth Circuit supporting a successful appeal in an ADA discrimination claim, and filing a habeas corpus petition on behalf of an incarcerated individual serving a life sentence without parole.
