LaDonna Lusher

As a partner in Virginia & Ambinder, LLP, LaDonna Lusher’s practice focuses on employment law and she has represented clients in a wide variety of labor matters, including complex class actions to recover unpaid wages and benefits, employment discrimination matters, sexual harassment, and employee discharge and discipline. LaDonna has litigated labor and employment law claims in both federal and state courts, including prevailing wage violations, FLSA violations, state wage and hour violations, discrimination, sexual harassment, breach of contract and other employment-related violations. LaDonna is an experienced appellate attorney having successfully argued cases before the New York Court of Appeals, the First and Second Departments of the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division, and obtained favorable decisions from the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. LaDonna has additional experience in general commercial litigation and has helped recover unpaid benefit fund contributions on behalf of unions and their members.

Prior to joining Virginia & Ambinder, LLP, LaDonna clerked for the Honorable Timothy E. Meredith of the Court of Special Appeals in Annapolis, Maryland. LaDonna has authored several articles on employee rights, including an article on the rights of unpaid interns that was published in U.S. News & World Report. LaDonna also has been a panelist at multiple symposiums where she lectured on minimum wage, overtime laws and class actions. Super Lawyers recognized LaDonna as a Rising Star in 2014 and 2015, and as a Top Woman Attorney in 2016. In 2017, LaDonna was recognized in Best Lawyers’ Women of Influence awards.

LaDonna is actively involved with several not-for-profit organizations. She serves on the board of the Autism Legal Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the legal needs of adults on the autism spectrum facing discrimination in housing, employment and other areas of their lives. LaDonna is also a board member of the Center for Frontline Retail, and a leadership member of the Coalition of Women’s Initiatives in the Law.
