Alex is a Staff Attorney on the Housing Rights team. Before joining TakeRoot Justice, Alex served as an Equal Justice Works fellow, working with the Western Regional Advocacy Project (WRAP) and the National Homelessness Law Center to design and launch the LDC project – a network of movement-driven legal clinics to combat the criminalization of homelessness. In her time at CUNY Law, Alex interned at the Center for Constitutional Rights, Community Justice Collective (Toronto, Canada), and Brooklyn Legal Service’s LGTBQ/HIV advocacy unit.
Alex is transplant from Canada, where she spent many years organizing with and supporting movements focused on social, racial, environmental, and economic justice – including helping to organize and lead the largest student strike in North America.
