Meredith Bloch, a graduate of Cornell Law School, is Senior Staff Attorney at TakeRoot Justice. After graduating from law school, Meredith worked in the dispute resolution practice of a large international law firm for four years. During that time, she received the Legal Aid Society’s Pro Bono Publico Award recognizing the outstanding work of volunteer lawyers who provide exceptional legal services to low-income New Yorkers. Then, Meredith transitioned to public interest law in 2016 when she joined the Migrant and Immigrant Community Action Project in Saint Louis, Missouri where she began focusing full-time on immigration law, providing direct legal assistance to migrants in an array of immigration law matters. Since that time, Meredith’s representation of migrants has centered on humanitarian-based immigration benefits in both affirmative and defensive postures. Meredith relies upon her fluency in Spanish and French to engage in community outreach and Know Your Rights efforts.
